I ended up using two books because the only styrofoam wreath left in my local Spotlight and Lincraft stores was a larger size, so sorry about tearing up your books Alistair Maclean Night Without End and Arthur Hailey Airport.
Before I post the link to the instructions, a few added suggestions (or things I learnt from experience) are:
- While hunting for an old book in your local op-shop, go for one that's at least 400 pages (200 pages to curl) and has a good paper quality. You want a heavier weight paper, not a thin one.
- A smaller styrofoam wreath means less work, and this takes hours to put together already.
- I had to use a letter opener to unstick the pages after gluing glitter on the edges, so it was a bit fiddly for a minimal glitter effect.
- Start from the outside in because the more cones you roll, the better you get. My first ones were terrible!
- Oh, and as a first time glue gun user, I quickly learnt not to put the hot glue on the styrofoam because it melts. Glue the pages, then stick to the wreath.
Here are the instructions.
Have fun!
