Those schoolgirl days of telling tales and biting nails

Perhaps it's the new TV series 'Winners and Losers', which is based on relationships formed in high school, or perhaps it's because I'm organising some high school reunions as part of my job. Whatever the reason, I've been thinking of old school friends a lot lately and wondering what everyone is up to.
Good old Google has helped me find some of the people in my class (I'm not on facebook and don't tweet), and I've been amazed at how well people have done. From a graduating class of 14, we produced three doctors: one medical and two with PhDs who work at Monash Uni and Melbourne Uni. Other school mates who dropped out along the way became architects, accountants, lawyers and business owners.
The girl who became a doctor was treating a friend's father in January and they discovered they both knew me. As a result, I got in contact and we caught up for the first time in 20 years last week. It was great! We spent almost three hours trying to remember people's names and fill each other in on news from our old hometown of Donald.
We're going to start organising some smaller reunions and hope to build up to a 25 year (OMG!) reunion in 2013 for the Class of 1988. I love how we've all chosen different paths and found our places in the world.
